A famous professor once said “implants are not replacements for teeth, they are replacements for NO teeth”. Implants and teeth are certainly different from mechanical, biological, and technical points of view. These differences mean that implants and teeth are not to be treated the same way and one must give proper attention to fabrication, try in, insertion and recall stages of implant restorations. Complications often arise when care is not taken. This presentation will review complications over the past 35 years and how they have been dealt with.
